Finn Chr. Hurst

With a strong background in property management, investment, development, sales and leasing – Finn has a very broad skill set and manages the wider Wilson Hurst group in the northern half of the North Island.

After completing a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree in Property Management and Development, Finn set up a property management company for an Auckland Real Estate Company, before shifting to London to live for five years. There, Finn worked as an Acquisition Manager for a Property Investment Firm before returning to New Zealand in 2007 to join Telecom’s property team, where he was charged with rolling out their 3G network. After three years in various roles with Telecom, Finn left to join forces with Vaughan Wilson and Wilson Hurst was formed.

Outside of the office, Finn is a keen family man but can be found in his spare time either fishing, diving, surfing,  playing football (soccer) or participating in anything that represents a good challenge or for a good cause. In 2013 Finn climbed Mt Cook to raise money for the Cancer Foundation.

Peter Rogan

Peter has been a Director of Wilson Hurst since October 2013.  Peter oversees and develops operations in the South Island from their Christchurch office.  With over 20 years within the property market, Peter has a breadth of knowledge and experience associated with portfolio developments and property management.  He has helped manage the successful rollout and upgrade of several telecommunications projects in Europe for companies includingEricsson, Vodafone and Hutchison.  More recently he had been involved in obtaining property rights for various clients in the South Island.  

Originally from Wales, Peter has lived in New Zealand for 10 years and takes full advantage of the countryside on his doorstep, which his dog fully appreciates. Other hobbies include skiing, dirt biking and reading history books.

Vaughan Wilson

Vaughan manages the Wellington office of Wilson Hurst along with business development and client liaison.

Vaughan is also involved in mobile phone site acquisition, tenancy searches for clients and wind farm turnover analysis and rental provisioning for Meridian Energy.

2015 marks Vaughan’s 20th year in the property industry beginning initially as a Real Estate Agent in Commercial Sales and Leasing, moving to a role as Valuer before locating at Telecom and overseeing its freehold entities.

Vaughan has since 2002 been working as a property consultant for a wide variety of corporate occupiers and government departments.

Laura Osborne

Laura is company licensee in for Wilson Hurst and is tasked with managing and training new staff, while also working as a sales and leasing broker.

Laura ensures the Sales and Leasing team complies with the REAA codes of best practice through good training and management. Laura also ensures the team is working effectively and efficiently and drives them to achieve their goals in the workplace. 

Laura has significant work experience in both commercial and residential property.  Having worked at both a high end residential agency and a large corporate commercial agency she has developed a diverse range of skills and has learnt the requirements of property people across the various sectors.

Outside of the office, Laura enjoys actively managing her property investment portfolio and yoga.

Chris joins Wilson Hurst with a proven background in residential real estate.  As a consistent top performer for Barfoot & Thompson, Chris achieved over $220 million in sales over a five year period. Chris is organised, tenacious and hard working - fundamental strengths a salesperson should have. 

Chris’ passion for working with people, his easy ability to build relationships and his strong negotiation skills meant that a career in real estate was a natural progression for him. Prior to his successful career at Barfoot & Thompson, Chris’ experience spanned ski seasons as a chef in Switzerland and Queenstown; from selling art for the art estates of John Lennon, Ronnie Wood, Marilyn Monroe and Miles Davis; to working as an estate manager in the Cotswolds, England. 

Chris prides himself on being adaptable in any market conditions and is committed to real estate for the long term. ‘I love how this job offers something different every day.  Moving to commercial is a new and exciting challenge for me and I’m keen to embrace this fast-paced side of the industry’.

Matt White

Matt is responsible for growing and managing the Asset Management business of Wilson Hurst.

Matt has 15 year’s experience in Asset and Property Investment Management in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Matt’s experience and strengths include consulting on behalf of large corporates owners and occupiers, taking a holistic view of their property requirements and implementing strategy through site identification and evaluation, lease negotiations, interpretation and assessment on land valuations and sound Asset Management. 

Matt believes in having a robust strategy in place for all transactions and that information is key, Matt prides himself on being well prepared and engages closely with external resources and stakeholders to ensure he understands all the information being tabled is accurate before any recommendations are made to his clients.

Outside of the office, Matt is a keen snowboarder and combined with a love of travel endeavours gets away most years to ride different international resorts. Closer to home Matt keeps fit most mornings with crossfit and is a part time triathlete.

Gemma Karalus

Gemma has dabbled in many industries in NZ, Australia and the UK before settling on working in property with Wilson Hurst.   She started with Wilson Hurst in it’s infancy on legacy easement work for Chorus, within site acquisition with the various mobile network providers and is now the Regional Team Lead for the Chorus consenting special project.

Gemma’s varied experience in working across many industries has given her an operational understanding of what is required to make a business tick and the ability to relate to people on all levels.
 
Outside of the office Gemma loves spending time at the beach, music, arts and sports events. Gemma loves international and NZ wide travel.

Natasha Zaicek

Natasha has worked in a number of industries both in New Zealand and the UK, before attending Massey University and gaining her business degree, majoring in Property Management and Valuation. After 3 years working on residential, commercial and government property portfolios, Natasha joined the Wilson Hurst Consultancy team in Wellington in 2011.

Natasha works on a multitude of contracts for Wilson Hurst, including acquiring new mobile sites for Spark, Vodafone and 2 Degrees, along with lease acquisitions and negotiations for both Government and Private clients. Natasha is also the Regional Team Lead for the Chorus consenting project, managing a bustling team in the Wellington office.

Outside of the office Natasha is passionate about family, food and travelling.

After completing his Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Commercial Law in 2013 and heading overseas for a quick world tour, Jack joined the sales and leasing team at Wilson Hurst in early 2015.

Utilising his skills and knowledge from his time in the construction, market research and sales industries – adding to his keen interest in property and eye for a deal, Jack is well suited to the Commercial Real Estate sector.

Between deals, Jack enjoys fishing, skiing, and free diving. He is also a keen traveller, having ticked off 24 countries around the world on his bucket list so far.

Michaela (Michal) Mitha

Michaela brings a wealth of administrational experience, attention to detail and implementation of systems and processes to her current role within Wilson Hurst as a Commercial Broker. With a career stretching across personal assistance, office administration and event management in primarily Real Estate and Advertising environments, she initially joined the Wilson + Hurst Sales and Leasing team as the Agency Administrator in its inception, before making the natural transition.

Michaela has both worked for and volunteered her own personal time in various organizations both here in New Zealand, Australia and the USA. After attending the Bethel Leadership Program in California, a three-year curriculum heavily focused on community based support and local non-profit social justice organisations, Michaela recalibrated her path, recognizing her strengths and experience working within the Residential Sales and Property Management sector, she decided to turn her affection for real estate towards Commercial Sales and Leasing.

Michaela is an excellent communicator, prides herself on establishing rapport and relevancy with a multitude of people across many diverse cultures, industries and backgrounds. She endeavours to always strive for her next best, and push the boundaries of excellence to a new level which has ensured her personal and professional success in all that she does.

Outside of the office, Michaela enjoys spending time with her close friends and family, takes a holistic approach to her lifestyle and has an active interest in the avenue of fashion styling, creative direction and interior design.  She is also a part time comedian, having not made it as a part time model.

Julia Ryall

Julia has worked in the property industry in both NZ and the UK for the past 16 years. Since graduating from Lincoln University she has worked across a broad variety of industries and clients.

She has worked on contracts for the Property Institute of NZ, Transit NZ, BNZ, Vodafone, NZ Post, Fletchers, Spark, Chorus and Auckland City Council to name a few.  She prides herself on developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and still keeps in contact with many of her previous clients.

Her specific skills are focussed on acquisitions, fit-outs, facilities management, lease reviews, portfolio management, lease & property analysis along with telecommunication work in both property acquisition manager roles.  Currently she is working with Spark in a property consultancy role, she is also working for Chorus on the UFB roll out along with using her skills for other projects such as property feasibility studies.

Outside of work Julia is kept busy with family life raising three wee girls, they have a love of camping in the summer months and in winter can be found up the mountain trying to train the girls to keep up on their skis!

Everett Jaura

Everett focusses on sales in the Auckland city fringe where he has successfully tapped into relevant buyer pools for investment and development opportunities. He is quick to size up an opportunity and articulate it effectively. This has helped Everett bring parties together in novel ways. Everett has also facilitated off-market transactions where parties, especially in the city fringe,  demand confidentiality and discretion. “Auckland is in an extended phase of development. A growing population, the Unitary plan and infrastructure projects around the city are reshaping Auckland. Sophisticated investors understand this and are actively trading their portfolios to reposition themselves for the future. This creates unprecedented opportunities” says Everett, our in-house dealmaker.

Before joining Wilson Hurst, Everett did Investment Sales with a Fortune 500 firm. Prior to that, he consulted to individual and institutional developers on the feasibility of large mixed use multifamily projects in New York. A graduate from the University of Auckland with Degrees in Finance (Honours) and Commercial Law, Everett has worked in multiple jurisdictions including Hong Kong, America and New Zealand

Outside the office, Everett insists that sleeping is his favourite thing to do. When we pushed for more of an answer, he said “Sleep, work and eat and then repeat”.

 

Lucy Costello

Lucy brings a wealth of business experiences with a career spanning property acquisition and management, restaurant ownership and professional singing. Lucy has solidified her passion for property by completing a Diploma in Conveyancing to become a Registered Conveyancer, a new profession in New Zealand. Lucy has also completed studies in English Literature and Law.

Her extensive business management experience includes; negotiation and dispute resolution, an excellent knowledge of all facets of property management including residential and commercial leasing, residential building project management, financial management and the Sale and Purchase of land.

Most recently Lucy has confirmed her commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace by providing Wilson Hurst’s companywide Health and Safety Policies and Plan, and undertaking the training requirements under the new legislation that came into force in April 2016. As the Health and Safety Representative, Lucy is well versed in all the legal requirements outlined in the new legislation and the compliance requirements for small to medium businesses and is currently providing a Health and Safety Solution for office based businesses which will expand next year to include all business specialities.

Lucy is an excellent communicator and relationship manager which has ensured her success in all of the diverse fields that she has inhabited over the last twenty years, and since joining Wilson Hurst over two years ago she has continued to expand her skill set working with the Department of Corrections, Spark, 2 degrees, Chorus and Defence.

Working primarily on behalf of the larger telecommunications companies in New Zealand, Brenna’s role at Wilson Hurst has seen her act in a number of different capacities ranging from site scoping and contractor management through to lease negotiation, drafting and reporting. Strengths include contract negotiations, driving projects to tight timelines and problem management, skills which have proved useful through the duration of various projects as well as throughout a wide range of lease management activity.

During this time Brenna has worked closely with Wilson Hurst’s clients forming strong relationships at both Spark and Aurecon New Zealand as in house Acquisition Project Manager using the opportunities to continue to grow her professional working network. 

Outside of the office Brenna enjoys following her passion for rugby locally, nationwide and internationally. After heading to the UK for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and a further 2 months of travel through Europe she has gained an appreciation for travel and adventure, which she hopes to add to this year a bit closer to home.
